Mumutane is a home interior brand with an inspirational mix of Nordic aesthetics and vibrant African expression. African wax print textiles contain many tales and stories of life in Africa, which give the products a special dimension and story. Every cushion is unique. The front is made of wax print textile purchased from small, local textile shops in West Africa. The back is made of high-quality wool-blended leftover textiles.
The objective is to create ’products with purpose’, which is why Mumutane has a sustainable approach with a focus on minimising textile waste, improve work conditions in low-income countries and support production with social impact businesses in Denmark. The environment and social responsibility agenda together with the 'give work philosophy' is a mindset that is rooted in the core of Mumutane’s strategy. Therefore, Mumutane has also become certified as a B Corporation in 2021.
The cushions are adaptable to your preferences: one side express Nordic minimalism and the other African liveliness. This cultural crossover adds a personal and playful interior experience to any conscious, modern home.

The Wonder Wall decoration is a sculptural artwork and a result of a collaboration between visual artist Christina Christensen and Mumutane. An art piece made solely out of leftover scraps from the home decor production of Mumutane. The idea behind the Wonder Wall is to encourage everyone to see waste as resources and spark life into materials that no one imagines to be of interest.
The Wonder Wall decoration is a testament to the beauty and possibility of sustainability. By reimagining what we consider to be waste, we can create something new and beautiful.

The STOOL exhibition is a collaboration between companies from design, furniture, production and environmental science presenting 13 different designs and expressions of the same basic stool. All produced with waste materials to explore the CO2 equivalents and the climate impact.
We believe collaboration is the way forward to achieve responsible solutions. With this co-creation we want to inspire everyone to be reflective both in terms of design, production and consumption in order to create a more circular approach.
