Mumutane is a home interior brand with an inspirational mix of Nordic aesthetics and vibrant African expression. African wax print textiles contain many tales and stories of life in Africa, which give the products a special dimension and story. Every cushion is unique. The front is made of wax print textile purchased from small, local textile shops in West Africa. The back is made of high-quality wool-blended leftover textiles.
The objective is to create ’products with purpose’, which is why Mumutane has a sustainable approach with a focus on minimising textile waste, improve work conditions in low-income countries and support production with social impact businesses in Denmark.The environment and social responsibility agenda together with the 'give work philosophy' is a mindset that is rooted in the core of Mumutane’s strategy.Therefore, Mumutane has also become certified as a B Corporation in 2021.
The cushions are adaptable to your preferences: one side express Nordic minimalism and the other African liveliness.This cultural crossover adds a personal and playful interior experience to any conscious, modern home.

Fuori Salone | Milan Design Week 2022
Mumutane is joining "The Danish House" at RoCOLLECTIBLE DESIGN | Designers & Crafters during Milan Design Week 2022 together with twelve other selected Danish design brands.
The doors are open from June 7 to 12 at the incredible gallery of Rossana Orlandi.
All items are selected by the world famous gallerist and the whole exhibition is curated by her as well. Join us in Milan for Fuori Salone.

Five years ago there was a real chance of starting a new chapter in my life, and all signs were pointing towards founding my own business. I had a lot of ideas which all had the same perspective in mind, namely doing a real difference for other people. This is the story of how I became an entrepreneur and part of the B-Corp movement.
